Project Manager | Mexico City
From Document Control for PPP projects to PMO planning for national infrastructure projects, Juan Manuel Riego has proven to be an ideal asset for project management development at Bovis. Coordinating activities, human resources, contractor scheduling, and time control, he contributes to streamlining value engineering.
One of my greatest achievements has been being part of teams that have good interaction and create a fun and participatory work environment where everyone feels the freedom to propose and openly discuss ideas.

¿How did you get into what you do?
It started during the last semesters of my Civil Engineering degree, at that point, my personal need to develop my professional growth based on the knowledge acquired was calling me into the professional world. I came across Bovis through an acquaintance.
The type of projects, ideals, and values caught my attention. After researching the company, I decided to get in touch to begin my interview and recruitment process. It was a quick and very friendly process, with personalized and friendly attention. Soon after, I joined as an intern. Within Bovis, I’ve held various positions, starting from document control for PPP projects to on-site supervision in real estate, administrative and construction management for skyscrapers, and eventually planning PMOs for national infrastructure development projects.
¿What do you enjoy most about your role at Bovis?
Something I get a lot of satisfaction from is finding team solutions to problems that arise in our day-to-day work. Undoubtedly, one of the parts I enjoy the most involves managing and anticipating how a project will unfold: coordinating activities, human resources, contractor scheduling, overall project time and resource control. All these leads to value engineering, where we are constantly challenged to improve and achieve better results through team ingenuity.
¿What’s your greatest professional achievement at Bovis?
PIt might sound a bit romantic, but one of my greatest achievements has been being part of teams that have good interaction and create a fun and participatory work environment where everyone feels the freedom to propose and openly discuss ideas. Looking at it from a more technical or project perspective, while not yet accomplished, we estimate that within a month, we will conclude the administrative closure of Chapultepec Tower One. It has been a major challenge due to many resistance factors and issues arising from the COVID-19 suspension period.
¿What advice would you give to someone looking to develop in your field?
Get involved; immerse yourself in everything you can. From supporting a worker’s tasks to trying to understand project or company operations. Of course, always know your limits and capabilities, but there will always be people who can teach you something new or even come up and challenge established ideas. Being open to better solutions is key.
¿What do you think will be the major trend in your field in the next five years?
EWhile the next five years might seem short term, the development of technology and artificial intelligence has become a significant and evolving trend. It’s essential to evolve alongside it so we don’t fall behind in the competition. These technological innovations provide tools and solutions that seem unimaginable and exclusive to massive corporations, but that reality is just around the corner. Staying competitive and pioneering innovation is crucial to remaining at the forefront
¿What are you passionate about outside of work?
There are several things I’m passionate about, and it’s hard to cover them all. Considering a typical day, photography is a hobby I recently started, and it continues to capture my attention and passion day by day. Part of passion is learning, so I enjoy staying updated on existing knowledge and exploring areas that could bring value or personal interest for improvement, whether in work-related, personal, or social contexts
